System requirements

NET-Simulator is written in Java. You need to install Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 5+ to run NET-Simulator. If you want to build NET-Simulator from sources you need to install Java SE Development Kit (JDK) 5+, and Apache Ant. It also makes sense to install IDE NetBeans if you are going to join the developers team.

The following libraries are required:

Optionally you will need Xalan to be able to export NET-Simulator projects to html.

Hardware requirements are defined by JVM. You can find some tips about supported configurations on the Sun Microsystems site. However NET-Simulator will require the Pentium 4 PC, 256MB to run.

And please, remember that the famous slogan "Write once, run everywhere" you should read as "Write once, test everywhere".
